Cultural Diversity Week is a time to come together as a community to celebrate our multicultural heritage and identity.
This year, there were a range of great opportunities to get involved in the week and embrace Victoria’s diversity.
VMC Film Festival
The Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) Film Festival calls on Victorians, young and old, to show us what multiculturalism means to their generation through the lens of everyday stories. Shortlisted films will be screened at the VMC Film Festival at ACMI, where we will present winners with some great prizes.
Entries are now open until Tuesday 24 April 2018. Find out more and make a submission.
Primary School Short Film Competition
The Primary School Short Film Competition called on our state’s youngest filmmakers to produce a short film that explores what multiculturalism looks like. Stay tuned for the winning entries.
Host an event
They say there's no more powerful way to get to know someone than by sharing personal stories or experiences. Cultural Diversity Week invited Victorians to host an event, to create a conversation about belonging and to engage attendees via our events calendar.
Spread the word
Many Victorians helped to spread the word about Cultural Diversity Week in their workplace or community with our promotional resources.
